Local Area Network Ethernet/LAN
We install and certify speed ratings in local area networks.
A basic installation utilizes a conductivity meter which tests the "pin out" of the RJ45 jacks.
A comprehensive test utilizes special test equipment which will pass one gigabit of data at 350MHz (IEEE 202.3AB) [1000base-T].
We test for attenuation, cable length,
EMI interference and for TIA568/570 interconnect standards.
FAQs
How does the Cat5 cable work?
There is a twist in the cable assemblies for each pair of wires (4), typically 3 for every inch. There is a different twist rate for each pair. This twist interchanges the north-south magnetism in the cable assembly, which minimizes magnetic induction of data (cross-talk).
What is the pin out for Cat5 cable?
There are two 568A and 568B. "A" is typically a telecommunications standard and "B" is used for 1 gigabit switch.
